How we talk to each other at AYVA: recognition before judgment. We question ideas, not the dignity of the people holding them.
The spirit
Meet the person before the opinion. Disagree without contempt. Assume good faith, and give reasons.
Encouraged
Questions, lived experience, evidence, counterarguments, corrections and proposals. Citing sources. Changing your mind when the argument earns it.
Not allowed
- Illegal content.
- Harassment, threats, or incitement to harm.
- Hateful, dehumanising or derogatory language toward people or groups.
- Doxxing or sharing private information without consent.
- Deception, impersonation, or coordinated manipulation.
- Spam and automated abuse.
Protected
Good-faith criticism — including of AYVA, its leaders, and power itself — is welcome and protected.

When tensions rise, we practise: Recognise, Restrain, Relate, Resolve, Repair, Renew.
Consequences
Content may be edited, hidden or removed; repeated or severe breaches may limit posting. Appeals go to humans (see Moderation & Appeals). There are no automatic permanent bans.
